Matelassé Coverlets

Matelassés Embody Timeless Style & Traditional Luxury

At ANICHINI we pride ourselves on being the first company to import matelassés from Italy, more than 25 years ago.

Matelassés came into being with the invention of the jacquard loom. These coverlets or bedcovers were meant to approximate the white-on-white Trapunto quilts of the 18th century. These early matelassés are still collected as antiques today. Nothing stands the test of time like an Italian matelassé.

Matelassé coverlets are a favorite for their lightweight hand, traditional style, and the polished look which they give to the bed. Our collection includes both modern and traditional styles woven of Egyptian cotton.
