CLEANING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Microloft Duvets & Pillows
It is best to not wash duvets too often as over washing will shorten the lifespan – the perfect time is when you make the switch from heavy winter duvets and your lighter summer alternative. Although your pillows don’t change it is also a good habit to wash them when changing bedding for the seasons.
Not all home machines will accommodate a king or queen size duvet – in that case local launderettes will have large capacity machines. At home front loading machines with a hollow drum allow room for the comforter to move comfortably.
Settings & Detergent
Gentle setting with warm (not hot) water temperature.
Mild Detergents are best.
We recommend a second rinse cycle to remove any detergent residue.
As with washers your dryer will need to be a large capacity to adequately dry large duvets – pillows should not be a problem. A warm (never hot) setting is best – you may want to include 2-3 CLEAN tennis balls – this will help to restore loft. One of the worst things for any textile is to over dry it until “bone dry” this practice shortens the lifespan of the article. If possible remove the duvet/pillow when there is still a bit of dampness when you touch it – it shouldn’t feel hot and dry, if possible finish drying on a line. If line drying is not practical reduce the temperature of the dryer to Air Fluff Only to finish.
